Back to Back Winners at the Food Wine Tourism Awards

Kangaroo Island’s outstanding products, businesses and experiences were celebrated last Friday night at the annual Food, Wine and Tourism Awards, held at Dudley Wines’ new event space. The gala dinner was attended by 100 guests and showcased an abundance of Kangaroo Island’s best food, beer and wine.

Dudley Wines is pleased to announce that they were awarded the Best Cellar Door Experience on Kangaroo Island for the second year running. Jeff Howard, Director of Dudley Wines accepted the award along with his wife Val, daughter Tam and staff members Penny, Simone and Kate. Jeff dedicated the award to his three children who now run the family business alongside their parents.

“If it wasn’t for their hard work, dedication and foresight, Dudley Wines wouldn’t be the successful thriving business that it is today. We continue to grow and improve with the demand of our customers,” Jeff Howard said.

Over the past 12 months Dudley Wines’ achievements include the installation of a new nature play area for kids, upgrading their access ramp to the lawned area for wheel chairs and prams and successfully establishing marketing collateral and promotion material for their new event space.

“As a small family business located on an isolated island we cherish our committed staff who are so important in ensuring that the experience we offer visitors to our cellar door is second to none,” Jeff Howard said.

Dudley Wines also won the 2017 South Australian Tourism Award for Best Tourism Experience at a cellar door, brewery or distillery at the end of last year.

“For our Cellar Door to gain such positive recognition as a tourism destination, regionally as well as state wide in the last 12 months substantiates our belief in our product, and the unique experience we offer Kangaroo Island visitors.”

Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to the Kangaroo Island Food and Wine Association, Tourism Kangaroo Island and all the sponsors of the night.
